Ready, Set, Greece!
We are traveling through time together, every day of our lives. All we can do is our best to relish this remarkable ride.
It feels like it has been so long since I have had the chance to travel with my dad. We are off again and headed to Athens, Greece for another 48 hour layover. But first here are a couple quick reminders to help you pack the perfect bag.
Be mindful of how you pack your jewelry. I always use a small container to keep everything in one place. Plus check out this handy little trick to make sure that your necklaces don’t get tangled before you arrive.
Keep your makeup and toiletries organized in separate compartments. I was able to grab this small bag from Forever 21 for $9.99. It is the perfect makeup buddy!
Always remember a hat! This sounds so trivial but trust me, if you are going to a warm destination pack a ball cap and if you are going to a cold destination pack a beanie. You will not regret it.
Make sure any liquids you pack in your carryon are going to be allowed through security. When you are at the airport grab a couple of the security bags for your next trip. These will not only keep you organized but also save anything in your bag from a potential shampoo explosion!
If you are bringing electronic be careful packing your cords. Cords are more delicate than we think they are. Always unplug the USB portion of your cord and wrap it separately from the port. Also, to keep those earbuds from mysteriously ending up in a knot inconceivable to man, wrap them in a circle and use a clip to secure them. I use this little bag to make sure I don’t loose track of my cords and batteries.
Footwear is probably one of the most important things you are going to pack. Think about what you will be doing on your trip prior to even reaching for those stilettos! Be realistic when it comes to packing footwear. Shower caps also make for great shoe packing covers. To save room in your pack, shove your extra socks inside of your shoes. Packing is pretty much the ultimate game of Tetris!
Plane rides are the perfect opportunity to go off the grid and reflect on goals. Pack a journal and plan to take some time to focus on you.
A carryon care pack can honestly be your best friend, especially on a long haul flight. Think about packing yourself a wee carryon buddy and include the following:
- Lip balm
- Eye mask
- Warm Socks
- Toothpaste & Toothbrush
Traveling is probably one of the best things you can do. And it always feels the best when you are prepared! I always try to make myself right at home when I am on an airplane. It’s all about enjoying the journey!
Time to fly! Ready, Set, Greece!
